    Internet Cafes in Tokyo

    2003.9.27
Nowadays, we are very much relying on the information through internet for daily life and so as travelers. If PC was not setup in the hotel you are staying, sometimes it is very hard to find a place where you can check internet in foreign counties. I have experienced that, too.
This time, I would like to introduce two types of Internet Cafes in Tokyo to prevent that problem. Hope they would be a good help when you are in Tokyo and make your travel more enjoyable!

    1. Yahoo Cafe
    http://cafe.yahoo.co.jp (Japanese Only)

It is a internet cafe produced by Yahoo Japan.
At first, you need to register to become a member of Yahoo Cafe. It is a free registration. To become a member, you need to bring some kind of ID (Passport, Driver licences or etc) and fill out the the form. Once you are registered, it is FREE to use their computers or connect your own computer to internet.
They are located in five places in Tokyo: Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, Omotesando, Hibiya and Shinagawa Prince Hotel. Click HERE for more details.

    Yahoo Cafe Yahoo Cafe
I visited Yahoo Cafe in Omotesando.
I saw many people from other counties, too.

    2. Manga Land
    http://www.mangaland.co.jp (Japanese only)

I would like to introduce one of the Japanese unique styled Internet Cafes in Tokyo which is called "Manga Land". In "Manga Land", you can enjoy not only Internet but also "Manga" (Japanese cartoon books) and Japanese TV games - Play Station or X-Box (not all shops have TV games). It is a good place to check out the updates of Japanese TV games or take a look at "Manga". (although all are written in Japanese....) It should be fun to feel our culture in this way too!

    Manga Land Little Booth
I visited "Manga Land" in Akihabara.
It is divided by little booths for Internet or reading "Manga".
    Manga shells Private Room
Some of the shops have a little private room for TV games and Internet.

The avarage cost would be around 400 yen for one hour which is charged by every 15 min, 30 min or 1 hour. (depends on shops) For example, 100 yen for every 15 min.
I don't think they have PC with English version OS but it should not be a problem! The interface of Windows are the same in all over the world, right!?
You are in Tokyo, you might as well check them out to feel like a local people!
